Rehoboth Beach, DE – June 14, 2025 – Volunteers gathered on Saturday morning to take part in Save Our Lakes Alliance 3 (SOLA3)’s Lakes Cleanup Day, an initiative to clean up and beautify Silver Lake and Lake Comegys.
With over a dozen volunteers armed with gloves, trash grabbers and trash bags in hand, they jumped into kayaks to remove debris and trash from the lakes and surrounding shorelines. We pulled out plastic and glass bottles, aluminum cans, tire walls, a traffic cone, a lawn mower blade, tennis shoes, furniture cushions, fishing line, plastic bags and much more.
This is more than just picking up trash. It’s about protecting our lakes for future generations, ensuring wildlife can thrive, and keeping our waters clean for the community to enjoy.
